Position: Quality Systems Coordinator

Location: On-site in Adams, MA.

Pay Rate: Approx. $24/hr - $40/hr based on experience.

 

Responsibilities

Adams, MA (50%)

  • Daily review of USP/FG product results and any Out-Of-Specification products.
  • Generate the Customer Concern matrix and initiate the appropriate root cause analysis investigations.
  • Generate the Cost of Quality Report compiling information of non-conforming material.
  • Initiate Quality Alerts investigations and corrective actions as needed.
  • Review and upkeep the SPC-IV Explorer WIP data.
  • Verify that the raw material received was inspected.
  • Report weekly highlights and monthly indicators of the Quality Assurance topics.
  • Maintain the Quality and Food Safety Management Systems. Ensure the HACCPs are enforced.
  • Perform Monthly Internal Food Safety Audits. Document and send any corrective actions needed.
  • Plan, coordinate and perform ISO 9001/FSSC 22000 internal audits.
  • Assemble the annual Management Review to present to the Management Team.
  • Coordinate and document the Quarterly Food Safety Team Meetings.
  • Prepare the USP Product annual review report.
  • Perform an annual review of Food Fraud Vulnerability, and Food Defense plans.
  • Conduct ISO 9001/FSSC 22000/cGMP training for company personnel as necessary.
  • Handle all customer and third-party external certification audits.
  • Maintain the product certifications. (Kosher, Halal, NSF)
  • Answer customer product inquiries. Keep TraceGains information updated.
  • Coordinate and supervise the Pest Control activities.
  • Supervise internal calibrations and verifications. Send instruments for external calibration.
  • Supervise a mock recall-traceability exercise every 6 months.
  • Coordinate any external tests analyses needed such as microbiological, chemical or USP.
  • Manage the Change Control system, documenting any validation needed.
  • Document and coordinate Supplier Corrective Actions. Perform Supplier evaluations and audits.
  • Upkeep the proper documentation needed for the Laboratory control.
  • Stay current with product regulations and industry normative.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Ste Genevieve, MO (25%)

  • Maintain the Quality Management System documentation.
  • Follow-up on Customer Concerns and initiate the appropriate root cause analysis investigations.
  • Generate the Cost of Quality Report compiling information of non-conforming material.
  • Initiate Quality Alerts investigations and corrective actions as needed.
  • Plan, coordinate and perform ISO 9001 internal audits.
  • Gather information on contract supplier performance for their evaluation.
  • Assemble the annual Management Review to present to the Management Team.
  • Prepare an annual review report for product characteristics.
  • Conduct ISO 9001/cGMP training for company personnel as necessary.
  • Support third-party external certification audits.
  • Ensure that the requisites from the AIB international Standards for inspection on Food Safety are met.
  • Follow-up on Internal Food Safety Audits, mock recalls, pest control action items
  • Maintain the product certifications. (Kosher, NSF)
  • Answer customer product inquiries. Keep TraceGains information updated.
  • Manage the Change Control system, documenting any validation needed.
  • Document and coordinate Supplier Corrective Actions.
  • Stay current with product regulations and industry normative.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Canaan, CT (25%)

  • Maintain the Quality Management System documentation.
  • Follow-up on Customer Concerns and initiate the appropriate root cause analysis investigations.
  • Generate the Cost of Quality Report compiling information of non-conforming material.
  • Initiate Quality Alerts investigations and corrective actions as needed.
  • Plan, coordinate and perform internal audits.
  • Assemble the annual Management Review to present to the Management Team.

  • Conduct quality training for company personnel as necessary.
  • Support third-party external certification audits.
  • Answer customer product inquiries.
  • Manage the Change Control system, documenting any validation needed.
  • Document and coordinate Supplier Corrective Actions.
  • Stay current with product regulations and industry normative.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in science or business-based programs.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a quality role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in production or manufacturing.
  • Strong attention to detail, observation, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics, data analysis, and statistical methods.
  • Experience in Food or Pharmaceutical Industry and cGMP is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Good technical and IT skills.
  • Ability to translate ISO standards and legal requirements to work instructions.
  • Experience of minerals processing / chemical industries would be advantageous.

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written/interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present/communicate information to management and employees, ensuring the message is clear and understood.

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to regularly conduct work in a controlled office environment, moving around the office as needed, sitting at a desk, and using office equipment, including but not limited to a personal computer, copier and phone.  Constant contact with individuals internal and external to the organization occurs via various methods of communication typically including face-to-face discussions, electronic mail or phone calls. 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to have the ability to work in an office environment, using office equipment as needed, read, write, listen, speak, and understand English, follow instructions and other oral/written information, compose correspondence in a professional manner, complete paperwork and other documentation accurately, work independently and with others, communicate effectively with all individuals internal and external to the organization, analyze information/situations as needed, be organized and detail-oriented, be able to identify/judge the urgency of a situation, use judgment in decision making and use creativity and negotiation when necessary.

 

On a frequent basis, there may be exposure to plant areas, which include exposure to outside weather conditions as well as loud noise from equipment and dust from production processes.  This includes walking up flights of stairs in the production areas.

 

The employee is expected to be self-directed, take initiative and be persistent when appropriate to accomplish necessary duties and keep busy without prompting.  Additionally, the employee is expected to be adaptable/flexible to changing work assignments, have a high level of integrity, dependability and self-control to maintain composure, perform multiple tasks at once, learn and memorize procedures, manage time effectively and efficiently, meet established deadlines, display a cooperative attitude, read, understand and follow all ISO, company, job specific and safety policies/procedures, and attend/use all required training. 

 

Safety Equipment:  Safety equipment required while performing the duties of this job includes an ANSI approved hardhat and safety glasses, safety shoes/boots with steel toe protection.

 

Safety Training:  A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual which consists of a total of 24 hours of training.  Additional refresher safety training will be required as management deems appropriate or as dictated by MSHA/OSHA regulations.

 

Work Hours:  Must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays and weekends, as necessary.
