Position: Logistics Account Manager

Location: USA | Scottsbluff, NE


 

Responsibilities

Ameri-Co Logistics, Inc., a division of MTI, has an opening for an Account Manager in Scottsbluff, NE. The Account Manager is accountable for customer satisfaction, rate negotiations, and solution development for a broad range of customers is key aspects of the position.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Management shipment orders from assigned accounts and plants
  • Maintain customer relationship with all assigned accounts
  • Acquire new customers to achieve performance plans
  • Scheduling of shipments with shipping plant and receiving consignee
  • Secure carriers to provide service that achieve on time requirements
  • Accountable for carrier performance
  • Accountable for OTIF customer metric
  • Acquire sufficient carriers with adequate equipment to meet expectation of shipment pickup time
  • Negotiate with carriers on rates
  • Manage detention of carriers
  • Accountable for number of shipments handled, sales and gross profit margin of shipments handled
  • Position is accountable to manage 3,500 + shipments and 5 million annual shipment sales
  • Training in all OE components. Metrics of Voice of customer, Fleet utilization, Customer profitability will be utilized. Utilization of lean tools to improve efficiency.

 

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Track and tracing of shipments to assure carriers are on schedule
  • Cross coverage of other Account Representatives book of business

Qualifications

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent required.  2 years college or knowledge/experience in truck transportation required.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Very comfortable with technology, computerized software, Satellite interface with trucks.
  • Multitasking, conflict resolution (customer demands/ to driver requirement/ safety)
  • Effective communication with variety of groups
  • Able to prioritize demands
  • Able to meet timelines to resolve and complete issue, actions
  • Knowledgeable of FMCSA Regulations of Driver HOS, Cargo security, Maintenance
  • Customer service, Transportation, Logistics/ Brokerage/ Supply chain

  • Must have ability to speak and read English

Working Conditions: Office.  Team environment – Brokerage department in the Scottsbluff, NE office.

 

Work Hours: Typically, hours are 7:00am – 4:00pm Mountain.  However, incumbent will work the number of hours needed to accomplish job duties.  Rotating one Saturday morning a month. On call with cell phone one week per month.

 

Safety Training:  FMCSA regulations for motor carriers. Hazmat knowledge.
