Our Engineered Solutions segment offers advanced process technologies and solutions that are designed to improve our customers’ manufacturing processes and projects. This segment includes our High-Temperature Technologies and Environmental & Infrastructure product lines. Our High-Temperature Technologies product line offers specially-formulated blends and technologies primarily for Foundry and Steelmaking industries. Our Environmental & Infrastructure product line provides waterproofing, water purification, remediation and other fluid management technologies for critical projects for Remediation, Water Purification, and Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

 

  • Identify and develop new product ideas targeting the pet care market partnering with the cross functional team 

  • Construct lab-scale experimental designs to develop prototypes and test for feasibility in application. 

  • Execute experimental plans, test/characterize products, and conduct statistical analysis of results for meaning and conclusions from hypotheses. 

  • Experience with Bentonite clay and related applications  

  • Will have a scientist onsite as a mentor. 

Qualifications

General Requirements of the position are: 

 

  • Research Objective is to develop lab-scale functionalized mineral products that combine surface functionalization (organic and/or inorganic) with base mineral technologies This includes working with the research team to develop and test feasibility of synthesized product concepts in targeted, value-added applications. 

  • Candidate’s background will include Junior, senior or graduate student attending a university studying a scientific field such as chemistry or chemical engineering, material science, mineral processing holding laboratory experience that demonstrates good, safe laboratory practices combined with technical expertise in surface functionalization of inorganic synthesized minerals. Directly related graduate research experience is desired. 

Working Hours:

• 40-hours/week, 5-days a week
• Start/end Dates Negotiable within the timeframe of May/June start and concluding Aug/Sept.
