Job Summary

American Colloid Company a Minerals Technologies Company (ACC- MTI) currently has an opening for a Dryer Operator at the Gascoyne, ND facility.

 

American Colloid Company a Minerals Technologies Company (ACC-MTI) is a resource- and technology-based company that develops, produces and markets worldwide a broad range of specialty mineral, mineral-based and synthetic mineral products and related systems and services.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operates Drying and Milling processes
  • Responsible for performing Moisture, Sieve and pH test on process/packaging samples
  • Responsible for making sure that processing areas of the plant are kept clean
  • Make sure that all areas of the plant are kept safe and that all personnel obey plant safety rules
  • Responsible for plant shutdown and evacuations in emergency situations
  • Notifies the Plant Manager of any problems or emergency conditions
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the product, process and quality system
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system
  • Control further processing, delivery of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
  • Any other tasks assigned by supervisor

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Understand and follow directions
  • Pleasant, friendly and communicative
  • Ability to give directions effectively
  • Strong leadership skills a plus
  • Maintenance background helpful
  • Ability to perform normal work activities, sight, hearing, and walking
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to bend, twist, pull, and lift objects up to 50 lbs. as job duties required
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
  •  

 

Travel:

  • Very Little to None

 

Working Conditions:

  • Shift work in fast paced dusty environment

 

Work Hours:

  • 12 hour shifts, day and night, 5 to 6 days a week

 

Safety Training: 

  • MSHA
