Job Summary
Responsible for administration of company’s compensation and benefit programs providing administrative and technical support for both domestic and international locations.  Compensation and Benefit administration includes coordination of vendors and programs, administration of contracts and/or vendor agreements and overseeing audits related to employee benefits plans.  Implements and tracks corporate compensation and benefits programs and other goals as identified by the organization.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compensation data benchmarking. Responsible for understanding, collecting and benchmarking of competitive global market data as needed.
  • Participate in Compensation surveys including IPAS, WTW, etc. Maintain compensation data in Comp Analyst and assist in preparation of global compensation budget.
  • Supporting the organization’s compensation needs including compensation reviews for mid-year staff increases,
  • Leading the annual merit plan process including communications, timelines, and reporting.
  • Supporting the organization with various bonus plans including collecting goals, reporting, and creating equity exhibits
  • Provides HR Business Partners tools to ensure all salary adjustments, promotions, and compliance with compensation established guidelines, policies and practices. Review and signs off on ongoing compensation files including plant program compensation reviews for approval.
  • Year end reporting and coordination with vendor on Stock Plan management reporting.
  • Project lead for all  Pay Equity Analyses. Report findings to leadership and ensure pay is equitable across MTI via data analysis.
  • Ensuring that we are in compliance with pay equity changes globally.
  • Complete EEO1 surveys, Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting and all other state or local reporting requirements and requests as needed.
  • Ensuring that the data in HRIS is up to date by doing regular audits of job codes, Incentive Compensation (IC) changes, EEO1 category audits, etc.
  • Completing the required compensation tables for the annual proxy statement.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Special Projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Operational Excellence/Lean

  • Actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.

Qualifications

Education:      Bachelor’s degree in human resources administration or related field

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Five to Ten years’ experience in Compensation, Benefits, or Human Resources along with compensation experience. Possessing a deep understanding of pay structures, salary bands, and market analysis; assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range: Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)required.

 

Must be able to read, write, listen, speak, and understand English, can work independently, be dependable, maintain confidential information, integrity and composure at all times, communicate effectively with all individuals internal and external to the organization, be adaptable/flexible to changing work assignments, analytical, organized and detail oriented.  Must be able to multitask, compose correspondence and other documentation in a professional manner, express ideas constructively, use judgment in decision making and use creativity, persistence, persuasion and negotiation when necessary to accomplish necessary duties. Must actively listen to others, coach/instruct others, manage time effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines, be able to identify/judge the urgency of a situation, learn and memorize procedures, display a cooperative attitude, read, understand and follow all company, specific and safety policies/procedures, and attend/use all required training.

                             

Travel:      Travel may occur on an infrequent basis or as needed

 

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to regularly conduct work in a controlled office environment, moving around the office as needed, sitting at a desk, using office equipment, including but not limited to a personal computer, fax machine, copier and telephone, read, write, listen, speak, and understand English, have the ability to work independently, be dependable and maintain confidential information, integrity and composure at all times.

 

Constant contact with individuals internally and external to the organization at all levels occurs via various methods of communication, typically including face-to-face discussions, electronic mail, phone calls, written letters and/or faxes.

 

The employee is expected to be self-directed, take initiative and be persistent when appropriate to accomplish necessary duties and keep busy without prompting.  Additionally, the employee is expected to be adaptable/flexible to changing work assignments, analytical, organized and detail-oriented, perform multiple tasks at once, compose correspondence and other documentation in a professional manner, express ideas constructively, actively listen to others, manage time effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines, learn and memorize procedures, display a cooperative attitude, read, understand and follow all company, job specific and safety policies/procedures, and attend/use all required training.

 

Work Hours: The schedule is typically the day shift.  However, employees must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays and weekends, as necessary.

 

Safety Training:  A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided with New Employee Training by a qualified individual or through the online training system.  Additionally, an employee must be provided with further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employee’s position.

 

Additional refresher safety training will be required as management deems appropriate or as dictated by government regulations.
