JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President and Managing Director of Paper & Packaging is a critical role in the corporation overseeing global operations for this business unit that is the largest global producer of precipitated calcium carbonate.

The selected candidate will be responsible for Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, and Commercial aspects of the business. They will support Corporate Development and lead continuous improvement (Lean) initiatives facilitating the company’s drive to “world class” in all areas of operations.  

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with all areas of the organization providing assistance and direction in operations, sales and marketing, operational excellence
  • Evaluate and strategize to create business in markets

 

POSITION GOALS

  • Lead in all aspects of the business with stated goals of improving operations and sales
  • Lead the development of strategies to continue to grow the business through organic growth as well as acquisitions
  • Continue to increase presence and scope of business in Asia, particularly in China

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing or a scientific or engineering discipline; MBA is highly preferred
  • Global experience
  • P & L experience
  • M & A experience
  • Industry experience in chemicals, metals, minerals or a related B2B
  • Experience in at least 3 of the following areas - Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, Commercial (sales and marketing), mergers and acquisitions with an aptitude to learn and lead all of the areas

Travel

The successful candidate will be an energetic, independent, and resourceful person with a proven track record of success with an industrial organization. They must have highly developed emotional intelligence, and able to lead organization change and transformation. 

 

Most importantly, they will have the skills to lead an SBU (operations, commercial and operation excellence) as well contribute to Corporate Development. They must be a strong communicator who can interact with internal and external customers to obtain relevant feedback and act upon it, allowing business growth and development of a high margin mix to achieve sales goals.

 

They must be an individual that is comfortable and excels working in a highly accountable, high performance-oriented organization.  The successful candidate will need to excel in a highly visible role.
