Position: Plant Maintenance Technician

Location: USA | Colony, WY


This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required

 

Job Summary:

 

The Plant Maintenance Technicain will be expected to inspect and maintain all aspects of dust collection equipment, conduct preventive maintenance and repairs, and perform varied maintenance duties necessary to ensure continuous operation of the production facilities. 

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals, work orders, to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, and troubleshoots dust collection equipment/system problems, puts in work requests in Oracle.
  • Clears obstructions in trunk lines and ensures dust collection stays operational year around.
  • Provides scheduled and emergency/unscheduled (On-Call Schedule Required) repairs of plant equipment/systems.
  • Receives assignment from CMMS (Oracle) and or supervisor for particular emergency or maintenance repair to minimize production downtime and expedite production.
  • May be required to repair various process equipment, primarily dust collector related.
  • Must be trainable in trade skills such as lubrication, welding, rigging, use of tools, and testing devices, fabrication.
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and performs or recommends repairs.
  • Promotes a positive work environment/attitude.
  • Required to utilize established company computer systems and applications.
  • Assists in troubleshooting equipment problems and finding root cause of failure.
  • Records pertinent labor information from work shift by booking time in Oracle.
  • Help Manage spare parts inventories.
  • Take ownership of components and works to correct deficiencies.
  • Document problem areas with photos and description for improvement changes.
  • Work with operators on Autonomous Maintenance.
  • Maintain stationary air compressors and oil analysis for compressors at a future date upon training.

 

OE/Lean

  • Actively participates in 5S, Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and other OE initiatives.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Formal trade training is a plus.

Experience:

  • Experience in an industrial environment with equipment including, but not limited to:
    • dust collection systems,
    • crushers,
    • bucket elevators
    • conveyor belts
    • vibratory feeders
    • diverter valves, drives, gear reducers, bearings, shafts
    • air compressors
    • mobile equipment such as forklifts and skid steer loaders

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of company required computer operating systems and applications is necessary (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office applications, Oracle EAM, etc.)
  • While performing the duties of this job, an employee is typically required to have the ability to exert physical strength throughout the work shift, coordinate movements, use repetitive motions, have the ability to operate mobile equipment, regularly stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, reach, crouch, kneel, lift, twist, push and pull throughout a work shift;
  • work in confined spaces, have manual dexterity, lift materials weighing up to and including 100 pounds, select and use appropriate equipment/tools to accomplish job duties, follow all instructions and other oral/written information, visually inspect equipment/work area, complete paperwork and other documentation accurately, identify, analyze, troubleshoot and solve equipment/work area issues using judgement and mechanical knowledge and skills, react quickly as needed, communicate effectively with others, be aware of oneself in relation to surrounding equipment, work independently and as a team with others, and use, monitor and adjust equipment and related processes.
  • The employee is expected to be self-directed, take initiative and be persistent when appropriate to accomplish necessary duties and complete required work without prompting from the supervisor.  Additionally, the employee is expected to be adaptable/flexible to changing work assignments, perform multiple tasks at once, have a high level of integrity, dependability and self-control to maintain composure, learn and memorize procedures, prioritize work, manage time effectively and efficiently, meet established deadlines, display a cooperative attitude and leadership, read, understand and follow all company, job specific and safety policies/procedures, and attend/use all required training.

 

Work Hours:

  • Must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays and weekends, as necessary. 
  • Call-ins will occur as needed.

 

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, an employee is typically exposed to dust, loud noise, high places, confined spaces, very low and/or bright light, and outside weather conditions.  
  • Primarily works alone but will work as part of a team working in close proximity to others and works in close proximity with equipment.
