Job Title: National Accounts Manager - Pet Products

Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 per year with bonus potential

Location: Remote - United States | About 25% travel

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Minerals Technologies Inc. is seeking a National Accounts Manager to support our Pet Care business. Delivering business results through existing customer bases and new businesses. This position reports to the North America Sales Director.

 

• Drive results through multiple trade channels including - Club, Grocery, Farm & Feed, Pet Specialty and regional grocery retailers via broker management. Customer base includes regional and national US retailers
• Understand customer strategies, broker management and leveraging functional team expertise to create new product innovation that delivers profitable results
• Establish and develop strong, productive relationships with customers based on relative business importance
• Track monthly sales performance of direct and brokered accounts, identify variances vs. budget and develop and implement plans to address issues, consistent with sales strategy
• Provide accurate monthly forecast based on opportunities, information from customer base, industry data and economic trends
• Monitor and communicate up to date information on retail pricing and any competitive actions and threats
• Participate in the development of annual customer plans that are consistent with overall business objectives and national selling strategy
• Process customer deductions on a timely basis
• Provide a report of weekly activities and territory trends to manager
• Actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving

 

 

Key Accounts:


• Costco US, Albertsons-Safeway, Ahold-Delhaize, Hy-Vee, Wegmans and other Regional Accounts

 

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.


• 10 years – Successful CPG sales/sales and broker management experience with accomplishments
• Management experience required (i.e team leader / supervisor / broker manager)
• Dynamic understanding of the consumer-packaged goods marketplace within branded and private label
• Expertise dealing with customers at merchant and director level
• Able to work independently and within a team environment
• Proven track records to perform multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
• Manage time effectively and efficiently and meet established deadlines
• Operate with a high level of integrity and display cooperative demeanor
• Ability to project values and opinions in a constructive and non-confrontational style
• Agility to adjust to customer and organizational needs
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Analytical skills to problem solve and build fact-based approach to build business cases
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel throughout Canada and the US
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

 


Safety: A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual or through the online training system. Additionally, an employee must be provided further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employee’s position.


Additional refresher safety training will be required as management deems appropriate or as dictated by government regulations.
