Job Summary: The Environmental Intern will be responsible for supporting various environmental permitting and compliance projects from early-stage development through operations.  Under limited supervision, the Environmental Intern will support compliance and permitting efforts with all regulations, laws, and company values. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Environmental sampling, testing, and analysis.  Compile baseline environmental and compliance data for various regulatory reports and permitting initiatives.  Support environmental department initiatives and projects. 

OE/Lean: Utilize OE/Lean approach in developing solutions and process improvement for the department.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:  

Work with environmental specialists and technicians to monitor environmental compliance, permitting initiatives, and other projects.

Education: BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Biology, Soils Science, GIS, or Range Management           

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Demonstrated learning agility.  Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills.  Be able to perform compliance inspections and field work tasks safely. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  ArcGIS and AutoCAD/Carlson software experience not required, but beneficial.  

Travel: Limited travel to remote field work locations

Working Conditions: Primarily office based with regular travel to field locations

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

Safety Training:  MSHA required
