Job Summary:

This internship provides exposure to real-world engineering challenges across design, analysis, testing, and project execution. The intern will collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects, contribute innovative ideas, and gain practical skills in a professional environment. Ideal candidates are curious, proactive, and eager to apply their academic knowledge to impactful work

Responsibilities:

• To work with safety as a top priority in order to minimize accidents and incidents.
• To continually improve personal knowledge and experience.
• To maintain a high standard of housekeeping, good discipline and respect for peers and superiors. 
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Common knowledge of electronic and computer skills.
• Able to manage multiple, concurrent projects.
• Willingness to learn and share assignments.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effectively deal with deadlines and changing priorities. Assistance with the organization and archiving of equipment quality data files.
• Audit and assessment of legacy quality data files, and reassembly to meet updated standards
• Assistance with minor 3D modelling and drafting projects
• Audit of physical equipment to archived drawings and documentation.
• Other assistance as opportunities arise that rely on technical knowledge gained from the engineering curriculum

OE/Lean

• Understands and/or actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.
• Attend all OE training as it is deployed by the OE team.

Education:    

Mechanical Engineering student currently enrolled, minimum sophomore year completion with a 3.2GPA or greater preferred.

Experience:  

1. Entry level position.  
2. Detailed knowledge of MS Office products, especially Word and Excel.  Experience with Autocad and/or Autodesk Inventor preferred.
3. Strong Organization skills/logistical skills.
4. Self-motivated.
5. Good communication skills.

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly conducting work in a controlled office environment, sitting at a desk.  May be in corporate meeting settings. On very rare occasions there may be exposure to plant areas, which include exposure to outside weather conditions as well as loud noise from equipment and dust from production processes. 

Work Hours will be as agreed upon, based on intern availability and business needs.  

Safety Training:  A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual or through the online training system.  Additionally, an employee must be provided further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employee’s position.

Additional refresher safety training will be required as management deems appropriate or as dictated by government regulations.
