Position: First Shift Supervisor 

Location: USA | York, Pennsylvania

 

Job Summary

This is a working supervisor position overseeing the Safety, Manufacturing, Shipping, and Inventory of the Cat Litter operation.

 

This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Unloads raw materials from railcars as needed
  • Create and plan a production schedule
  • Supervises 1st shift Cat Litter team
  • Implement / suggest process improvements
  • Planning and staging all required supplies and raw materials on time as to not slow production
  • Must maintain a safe industrial work culture, able to enforce all applicable safety requirements
  • Held accountable for the well-being of team members and the care of equipment
  • Implementation of all associated Operational Excellence goals with the packaging area
  • Ensure highest level of product quality
  • Ensuring inventory process is followed and Kanban maintained
  • Other duties as assigned

OE/Lean:

  • Operational level understanding of the OE principles and tools
  • Open to change and helps to encourage and advance continuous improvement
  • Generates ideas to improve processes and safety

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to perform normal work activities, sight, hearing and walking
  • Can effectively take on responsibilities of supervisor as required (vacations, absences, and emergencies)
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance/ supervision
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Self-Motivated
  • Computer skills such as outlook and Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Continuous education as deemed necessary by the company

Qualifications

Education: High diploma/GED required.      

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Forklift experience, knowledge of lean principles, previous experience supervising a team. Basic computer knowledge. Must be able to speak, read, write, understand English language.

 

Travel: N/A

 

Working Conditions: Varies dependent upon season, dusty.

 

Work Hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm 40Hrs/week + productivity driven overtime 

 

Safety Training: Will complete annual safety training as well as well other job required safety training
