Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Intern to join our corporate cybersecurity team. This role offers hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, and risk analysis within a global enterprise environment. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects, assist in daily SOC activities, and gain exposure to industry-leading tools and frameworks.

 

Location: This is an in office position in Bethlehem, PA 

 

Security Operations Support

  • Assist in monitoring and investigating security alerts in accordance with incident response standards.
  • Respond to reported phishing attempts and participate in email threat analysis.
  • Review and close cybersecurity exception and incident tickets in ServiceNow.

Risk & Compliance

  • Benchmark IT assets against CIS security baselines.
  • Support vulnerability management and patching initiatives.
  • Participate in architecture and security meetings to understand governance and compliance requirements.

Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze cybersecurity products and services under consideration for deployment.
  • Provide insights on security awareness campaigns and training effectiveness.
  • Document findings and prepare reports for SOC leadership.

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Write scripts for system or application automation tasks.
  • Identify opportunities for improving existing security platforms and workflows.

Collaboration

  • Maintain open communication and positive working relationships with IT and business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with mentors and senior analysts on assigned projects.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Must have completed sophomore year prior to internship start.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability).
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals, operating systems, and common security tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Exposure to SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, or scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).
  • Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001.

Work Hours: Flexible, based on academic schedule and business needs.

 

Safety Training: Provided upon onboarding; additional refresher training as required.
