Position: Mechanic

Location: USA | Chesterton, IN

 

Job Summary

The incumbent will be responsible to work independently with the installation, repair, and maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic systems and equipment used in Industrial manufacturing
  • Maintain electronic systems and programmable logic controllers.
  • Have basic knowledge of gas-driven (pneumatic) and liquid-driven (hydraulic) systems and be able to maintain these systems on schedule and as needed.
  • Light fabrication work/welding.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Must be PC literate and MS office proficient.
  • Must be able to accurately read electrical schematic drawings
  • Work effectively within a team environment.
  • Work on platforms, ladders, etc. as necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize maintenance objects to coincide with production.
  • Must work independently.

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

KnowledgeAt least 3-5 years related industrial mechanical experience.  Proficient mechanical and electrical skills required; as well as good interpersonal, organization, planning and communication skills.  Must be computer literate and able to read electrical schematics. 

 

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent required.  Applicants should possess a diploma or certificate in electronic  or electrical repair.  An associate degree preferred, but not necessary. 

 

Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.  Must be able to withstand the physical pressures of constant standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting, extremes of hot and cold, as well as carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling heavy objects.  Must be able to work in an industrial setting.
