Position: Plant Admin & Warehouse Associate

Location: Lucerne Valley, CA

Compensation: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Plant Admin & Warehouse Associate performs a combination of administrative, inventory management, and warehouse support functions to ensure the efficient operation of production, packaging, and mining activities. This role supports purchasing, invoicing, and asset management processes utilizing Oracle and Microsoft 365 tools. The position plays a critical role in maintaining operational continuity, inventory accuracy, and a safe, organized work environment aligned with MTI’s safety culture.

 

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Manage invoicing processes, including recurring invoices, discrepancy resolution, and coordination with corporate purchasing and accounting teams
  • Support receiving processes and resolve pricing or billing discrepancies
  • Track and manage facility utility expenses
  • Purchase and maintain office supplies
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including packaging and shipping of light freight 

Inventory & Warehouse Operations

  • Maintain inventory levels for fuel (gasoline, diesel, propane) and critical materials
  • Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment to load, unload, and move materials
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and recommend appropriate stock levels
  • Issue and track MRO inventory using company systems

Systems & Data Management

  • Create, update, and maintain inventory and transactional records in Oracle
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to track, analyze, and report data
  • Record and maintain labor and operational data from work shifts
  • Review documents prepared by team members for accuracy and completeness

Communication & Coordination

  • Act as a liaison across departments to ensure timely and accurate distribution of materials, data, and information
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and corporate partners
  • Provide cross-functional support and coverage during employee absences

Continuous Improvement (OE/Lean)

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Daily Management, and Standard Work
  • Assist in developing and following standardized processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and inventory control

Safety & Culture

  • Perform all work in accordance with company safety policies and MSHA regulations
  • Actively promote and support a positive safety culture
  • Demonstrate leadership through safe work practices, teamwork, and a positive attitude

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of administrative experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with inventory systems or ERP software (Oracle preferred)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a mining or industrial environment
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)
  • Knowledge of purchasing, invoicing, and accounting processes

Work Environment

  • Industrial and mining environment with exposure to dust, noise, weather, and temperature variations
  • Work performed both independently and in team settings
  • Regular proximity to operating equipment and machinery

 

Work Schedule

  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Respond to call-ins as required to support operations

 

Safety & Training

  • Complete all required MSHA and company safety training, including equipment operation, hazard communication, and emergency response
  • Participate in refresher and ongoing training as required
  • Follow all safety procedures, including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
