Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator ( Night Shift)

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining assigned mining equipment to support production and reclamation activities across our Belle/Colony mining operations. Operators work independently and as part of a team to move material efficiently while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and equipment care.

 

This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.

 

Schedule:

  • Night Shift: Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 2:30 AM
  • Shift premium applicable
  • Major holidays off with holiday pay

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operating standards
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and promptly report equipment concerns
  • Operate assigned equipment, including scrapers, dozers, graders, haul trucks, excavators, and other support equipment as trained
  • Move material safely and efficiently to support mining, reclamation, and production objectives
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify potential maintenance issues
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform basic routine servicing as required
  • Assist with material handling and other operational tasks as needed
  • Work effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and fellow operators
  • Maintain accurate production and equipment records as required

Qualifications

Education:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

 

  • Heavy equipment operating experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided
  • Strong commitment to safety and dependable attendance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and develop operating skills on multiple types of equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Working Conditions:

 

  • Outdoor work in a mining environment with exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Moderate to heavy physical demands, including climbing, lifting, and equipment inspections
  • This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to applicable drug testing requirements
